Hello Everybody! Yesterday we finished a close reading and text coding unit for Black History Month. I started this project with the intention of just creating passages with three levels. I planned for each passage to have one information collection page for children to complete. Then, I had to add the writing. I couldn’t help it! I needed to have text based opinion responses. I always have to get that text evidence in. After that, I started working with a fabulous gal who needed text coding sheets. So, I shared with her what I had at her grade level and then I asked her for some feedback— which resulted in the custom text coding sheets I am including in this project. You can use the fun interview sheet to generate questions relevant to the historical figure. The MEGA CUTE informational sheets can be used as posters which you can use as decorations. You can also create a time line using the mini-unit dividers. Take a look on TpT.

Love the new blog and packet! These are always so greaT
Thanks girls!
Your reading passages look great. I have been looking at your TPT store and I am considering purchasing a bundle. I was wondering if each text is geared toward a particular standard, like compare and contrast two informational texts, or if there are only questions related to various standards. Can I use the text to teach a particular standard?
Thank you so much!
Just bought this today. Can’t wait to use. Thank you for creating such quality products.
